Subj:   DBD::Teradata Beta Version Public Availability

From:   Dean Arnold

The beta version of DBD::Teradata is now available to the public at

www.home.earthlink.net....

The alpha version of the driver has been tested for 2 months by several sites, so most of the major bugs have been shaken out (hopefully). Review the webpage for details on tested platforms, interface specifics, etc.

If you're unable to download the WinZIP or tar'd gzip file due to firewall issues, send me an email and I'll email a copy back.

Also, if you encounter bugs or other problems, check the webpage first for bugfixes and version updates; if that doesn't resolve your problem, email me first, rather than posting to the TDAT or DBI maillists; they're both getting a bit polluted already without our adding to the noise level. I'll try to keep the webpage updated on a weekly basis.

Also note that the current version doesn't yet include all the automatic make and install scripts; you'll just need to unpack the archive and copy the Teradata.pm file to wherever your system keeps its DBD driver files (e.g., c:\Perl\site\lib\DBD for ActivePerl installations).

If you'd like to be notified of version updates, send me an email and I'll include you in my beta testers list.

PS. If you're already an alpha tester, you'll automatically be included in the beta list.

Happy querying!

Dean Arnold
