Michael,

It's always better to use an other user to do backup or restore (to trace what the user is doing)

According to the size of your data and the drives available split your job to increase the speed of the backup.

It's better to launch your backup from a non-TPA node rather than a tpa one (even in case of big load, the archiving speed is always good ! between 10GB - 20Gb per hour on DLT7000). When the load is high a tpa node can archive only 1GB/hour !!!
