Jay,

At AT&T, we regularly perform V2 software upgrades without NCR assistance onsite. NCR has created the "PUT" utility, which is an excellent tool which allows you to install software on a multi-node V2 configuration, simultaneously, with a minimum of application downtime. There is a PUT Users Guide available on the NCR documentation website. Of course, we meticulously follow NCR's change control policy, which involves adherance to lead times, and an exhaustive system audit prior to the change. Also, the GSC is available by telephone during the upgrade window in case of change control problems.
